SPECS COMEDY - MARCH 6TH 2015

Paul Sinha, Addy Van Der Borgh, Mark Palmer and Steve N Allen take Specs Comedy to the next level.

Our March show marked a new era for the popular Comedy club, with our first ever sold out show. 170 eager comedy fans poured  through the doors and filled the Eric Morecambe Lounge at Luton Town FC. The compere for the night; Steve N Allen, kicked off the show and was met with raucous cheers from the audience as this much- anticipated Specs Comedy show got underway.

The first act introduced was the incomparible and self-deprecating Addy Van Der Borgh who didn’t waste time ripping into himself about his lack of fashion sense. After the interval on came “Mr Clean” Mark Palmer. Mark played on his South African accent and soon had the crowd in  tears of laughter as he told stories of  his scary experiences bungee jumping in his beloved Cape Town. At one point, the packed audience shared some friendly banter with the classy comic when Mark revealed that he had settled in Stevenage with his wife. This news was met with friendly boos from the Lutonians.

The audience filled their glasses at the interval as they prepared for the final act. Steve introduced the headline act which was met with the loudest roar of the night. Fresh from ITV’s The Chase, Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha was in the building. Paul kicked off his set in style not fazed about touching on his sexuality as one of the few openly gay comics on the circuit.

Paul continued, brushing on his Indian heritage and love for football which was met with brisk fist pumps from the Luton loyal in the crowd. Steve finally wrapped up on what had been a fantastic night of continuous laughs in the warm and welcoming surroundings of Specs Comedy.

Don't miss out on the next Specs show, which will be held on the 10th April and features Ivan Brackenbury, Geoff Boyz, Jolly Boat and compere Jez O Donnell.
